A-11 Offense is a Breakthrough Strategy

by Charm

The only thing I know about American Football is that the ball has the shape of my favorite chocolate candy. That’s it. But this story caught my attention because it is a case of a little David succeeding over giant Goliath because of a brilliant strategy.

The Piedmont High Football Team is a small high school team in California who was wallowing in loses against larger and more competitive schools. That is until the coach of the team devised a new offense they called A-11 Offense.
Here is how the coach describes this new strategy:

Three receivers to the right. Three receivers to the left. The center has two players. There are 2 quarterbacks behind each center player.

Basically, this means that everyone has the potential to receive the ball and not just the quarterback.

a-11 offense

This turns out to be a very good strategy. Since the team came up with the play, they had winning streaks and other schools, college and even the NFL are noticing them.

What is interesting about this story is that they didn’t return force with force. What they did was play with their intelligence. Like little David, they thought of a way of winning even if they are small. It just shows that not all powerful will win.

Sometimes, it only takes a little creativity and strategy.
